Never stop learning

We live in a time that when we think we grasp a subject and know how to apply that knowledge to implement certain business logic, we often find out that technology around us has changed. Suddenly there are better solutions to solve our challenges and we were just not aware. But the more time we spend on keeping things running the less time we have to focus on our added value, look for improvements and technology that help make these happen.

Cloud technology is a great way to use managed services that take away the need for you to spend time and effort on availability and scalability of your services and lets you focus on what matters for you. But to utilize this Cloud technology in a Well Architected (secure, scalable, reliable, cost effective and operationally optimized) way and to get the most out of it, you must likely change the way you work and even change the way you think on how to tackle problems.

Lots2Learn helps you understand AWS Cloud services and make them work to your advantage. With a background in Software Engineering, large scale UNIX/linux based infrastructures and 25 years of experience in the IT learning services industry at a corporate level, I understand not only the business challenges and requirements, but also am able to translate that into technical requirements, architect a solid solution and build it.

Training

Having started my career at the same polytechnic that I studied Software Engineering at, I've always felt close to education. I believe education is a great equalizer and enables anyone to achieve their goals. Knowledge is power and therefore it has more impact when shared. After having spent 25 years at a global IT Training provider, it was time to move back to technology and the reasons why I ended up in this industry at the first place.

Early 2018 I qualified as an AWS Authorized Instructor (AAI) and since then about a third of my time is spent teaching Authorized AWS courses across EMEA. Audiences range from small startups to large enterprises and AWS itself. And people's roles vary from Architects to System Operators, Developers and Managers who need to understand what AWS can do for their businesses.

Currently the classes that I teach are:

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials
  • AWS Business Essentials
  • AWS Technical Essentials
  • AWS Security Essentials
  • Security Governane at Scale
  • Architecting on AWS
  • System Operations on AWS
  • Developing on AWS
  • DevOps Engineering on AWS
  • Developing Serverless Solutions on AWS
  • Migrating to AWS

These AWS courses are only available via Authorized AWS Training Partners (ATPs). Apart from the Authorized AWS courses I also do custom workshops, helping customers understand which AWS services might fit their needs and how to apply them well.

For the AWS Authorized courses I have an exclusive partnership with easytocloud where we have a great team of 5 instructors with lots of experience in not only teaching AWS, but also doing consultancy. This means we can usually pull from extensive experience to explain topics and discuss solutions. Across all instructors we can teach almost all AWS Authorized courses.
